VINCE SANDOVAL

Executive Director

VinceVince earned his MBA degree from New York University with a specialization in Marketing and Media and Entertainment at 25. He has interned in the International Distribution departments of the Weinstein Company and Focus Features. He has also done marketing for Zeitgeist Films, independent film distributor based in New York City, working on their documentary releases, “Up The Yangtze” and “Chris and Don: A Love Story”. In 2006, he managed the US theatrical distribution of the Academy Award-shortlisted documentary “Favela Rising”, a look at the Afro-Reggae movement in Brazil which kept young people off drugs and violence in the streets. He has been involved with Video Volunteers and FilmAid International, social media agencies which both empower indigent communities through film and video.

Prior to business school, Vince worked in brand management for two years in Unilever Philippines. In 2001, he was the Asian winner of the United Nations’ Dialogue Among Civilizations international essay tilt and was recognized as the Jose Rizal Model Student of the Philippines. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of San Carlos in Cebu. 


JONNER NAZARENO

Strategic Development and Finance Director

Having been around numbers and financial documents for much of his professional life, Jonner Nazareno is as adept and comfortable at analyzing big national economic and financial figures as to reconciling corporate financial sheets and data.He began his career as a Research Associate and Financial Associate for the ASEAN economic organization, working closely with various senior economic and financial supervisors. He also had the opportunity to work on the last New York Mayoral campaign, as a staff member of Bloomberg’s economic and budgetary committee.His recent stint at MACK Industries Worldwide as Operations and Development Manager further honed his strategic development in marketing and project management, working with established clients such as ABSOLUT, RAY-BAN, WIRED, and BEN SHERMAN.

He holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Fordham University in New York City. 


DARLENE C. MALIMAS

Program Director

DarleneDespite having studied law and being a holder of a business degree at the University of the Philippines, Darlene decided to spend most if not all of her time in media and entertainment. 

After managing a web magazine and community portal for one of the premier metropolises in the Philippines, she moved on to being involved in television production particularly travel TV. She has been involved with internationally-recognized media outfits like ABS-CBN, CBN-Asia working in various capacities as a marketing manager, segment and line producer. She has also line produced a few music videos by popular alternative solo acts. She executive produced her first modest short film, "Ritwal" which was shortlisted at the first Cinemalaya Film Festival. 

Darlene has trained under respected media and film practitioners including one Hollywood-based instructor. She has pledged to devote a good number of her waking years to accelerating Philippine exposure in global cinemascape. 


JANICE Y. PEREZ

Administrative Director

JaniceJanice holds a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from University of San Carlos in Cebu, Philippines. She has worked in Accounting in the private and non-profit sectors for the last six years in New York. In 2006, she bought a consumer-ready DV camera and shot a short documentary in Cebu without any prior knowhow of filmmaking.  Later that year, she completed a 16mm Filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy. She has worked with the Tribeca Int'l Film Festival, the NY Latino Film Festival, the South Bronx Film Festival, and many others, and at the IFP Film Week Programs from 2006-2008.  

In November 2008, she completed shooting a short film project she co-wrote with her partner in New York, and in February of 2009, she shot in Cebu her first directorial short film project, "Sabongero (Cockfighter)," which is now an official entry to the Short Film Corner of the Festival de Cannes 2009.  Her most compelling vision is to create a feature-length narrative based on the conquest of Ferdinand Magellan in the Philippines in 1521, the screenplay of which she recently finished. 


CAROLINE CRUZ

Director of Memberships and Events

Caroline has been involved in several Filipino-American organizations and activities to promote and foster awareness of Filipino culture.   She was a former Vice President and Social Chair of the Philippine AmericanLeague at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, where she helped plan the first annual Bayanihan Banquet, showcasing traditional Filipino food, music, dance, and folktales.   Caroline also contributed to planning for the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND) Spring Conference hosted at RPI in Fall 2003.  


NING ZHANG

Director of Digital Marketing

Ning is the web marketing consultant for IndioBravo. Prior to joining the   IndioBravo team, he was the former President of Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA), the organizer of the annual Asian American Heritage Festival in New York City. In addition to his roles in the various Asian American non-profit, he is also the Director of Technology for Fresh Concentrate Advertising in New York.
